Happy Helter Skelter Everybody!! wasnt it a friday(im here in cali) that the killers left and then the killings happened after midnight on the 9th. saturday the ninth the world woke up to Helter Skelter. John Aes Nihils has asked me to go with him and friends to the Tate house entrance( and the el coyote) on past anniversaries but i never went. but i have been to Spahn Ranch on one annivarsay. it was a nice warm day like today with a great sunset. i was sitting on the rocks across the street from spahn most the night. the spot where Atkins may have suntanned. The later it got the spookier it became. Next year is the big 40!!

Id love to go to Spahn ranch and Barker Ranch but I'm 3000 milesaway in SC. I remember standing in front of my TV watching the news. I believe it was Walter Cronkites news show on Monday eve when I saw this. It was an aerial view from helicopter of the Tate house. Even at age 12 I knew of Jay Sebring, Tate and Folger name. I had seen one of Polanski's horror movies.
The hippie cult killer aspect really made it famous when Charlie appeared on the cover of Life Magazine. This magazine was twice as wide and tall as people magazine is today. That mag propelled TLB murders into the stratosphere. The TLB murders are more famous than the Lindbugh kidnapping was. The world has never seen anything like this before or since. It ended the hippie era overnight. After the murders hippies weren't cool anymore. Charlie saw to that.

Hi everyone, I've been reading all your posts here and you've all posted som every insightful information.
For many years I've had a fascination about Charlie and the family and the late '60s music and counter culture scene.

I live not too far away from Spahn Ranch and I go up there quite regularly.
I love the hills and canyons of L.A. and I must say that there is something special about the hills of Santa Susanna, I don't quite know what it is but there is definitely something spiritual about that place.

I've gone down by the creek just behind the ranch and took many photos, it's a very beautiful and peaceful place. Topanga is also very beautiful and spiritual but Santa Susana is special in a different way.

Not too far from the Ranch is the Fountain Of Life, and it isn't too differnt from the Ranch, very beautiful and spiritual.

Cheers.

i agree with you about santa susanna and topanga. theres something different about these areas.almost creepy but cool. you know some crazy stuff has gone down in these areas. something about topanga i get the feeling there is some hidden crazy stuff around there. it totally has a dark feel to it even in the middle of the day. and santa susanna....unpredictable. i took a friend there once who got hurt and had to be airlifted out. and the firefighters were talking about the "charlie curse". they said that area is cursed by the Family.and a lot of bad crap happens there. i thought maybe they think that but i thought i had been lucky while hiking in the area. i fell on a rattlesnake where the ranch stood and didnt get bit. i came across german sheppards that werent fenced in while hiking the back ranch area and they just froze with a nasty growl while they stared at me showing me their fangs.some reason they didnt come after me and i was able to slip out of the area. i took another friend who was recuperating from a motorcycle crash hiking. coming down from the lookout areas from spahn my friend almost couldnt make it out. we were bloody from the brush, tired and worn out, couldnt go on much further. ran out of water, but we made it out. maybe this was alot of weird things happening for just wanting to hike around spahn, cause every one of those times scared the crap out of me,but i thought positively. so when i thought about it i felt i had been lucky up to this point. its not my fault my friend couldnt jump off a three foot rock. besides, he didnt have no broken bones or sprains after the hospitol checked him out. thats good right??
